Week 7: Connecting Contacts, Sharpening Instructions, and Clearing the Path to Revenue

May 12, 2025

We shifted our focus from core plumbing to real-world data and crisp automation logic. Agents now pull live contact records into their workflows, Pica instructions adapt on the fly, and tighter error-handling keeps every task on the rails.

1. Contact Search—From Idea to Executable Data

  • Live contact lookup drops firmographic details straight into each agent’s config, ready for instant outreach.

  • Structured contact objects flow through Zapier actions, removing guesswork and reducing mapping errors.

  • Multi-file vector IDs improve retrieval robustness when agents need context about a prospect.

Investor takeaway: richer data pipelines = higher-quality prospects and faster path to revenue.

2. Pica Platform 2.0—Smarter Instructions, Fewer Edge-Cases

  • Continuation handling lets Pica break long instructions into sequenced chunks without losing context.

  • KnowledgeAgent toggle adds or removes reasoning power per task, balancing cost with precision.

  • Detailed, machine-readable logs now spell out exactly which platform ran each step.

3. Task & Error Management Upgrades

What Changed

Why It Matters

Graceful handling of invalid response shapes

Stops a single malformed reply from killing a workflow

Default empty-text fallbacks

Avoids null pointers and keeps pipelines flowing

Better retry + feedback loops

Self-healing behaviour boosts uptime and trust

4. Codebase & Architecture Refinements

  • Removed unused PICA_CONFIG file—leaner configs, easier onboarding.

  • Merged Zapier “dependency map v2” for cleaner action resolution.

  • Enhanced logging with platform names gives instant traceability when something misbehaves.

5. Hard-Won Lessons This Week

  1. Less is more: deleting stale config accelerated every subsequent change.

  2. Clear logs ≠ verbose logs: platform tags in each line reduced debugging time dramatically.

  3. Contact structure drives clarity: well-formed records remove friction in Zapier and downstream analytics.

6. What’s Coming in Week 8

  1. End-to-end contact → Stripe flow:

    • Agents find a lead, send a personalised email, attach a payment link, and watch for completion.

  2. Auto-generated summary docs compiling all reports, contact actions, and payments—then emailing the PDF to each customer.

  3. Full architecture diagram to document service boundaries before the beta partner review.

“Deleting code is an act of creation—it makes room for the next breakthrough.” — Entonomy Engineering Team

With live contacts integrated, instruction logic refined, and self-healing safeguards in place, the system is poised to transact real dollars in the next sprint.
