Week 9: Building the Mousetrap Funnel

This week, we focused on building and refining what we call the “mousetrap” funnel—a system designed to attract potential customers, guide them through our product experience, and convert them into paying users. Here’s what we shipped:

  • Meta Ads Campaign: We launched our first Meta Ads campaign, targeting early adopters aligned with our key customer personas.

  • GitHub Landing Page: Our GitHub-hosted landing page is live, ready to capture traffic from the ads and guide visitors through our flow.

  • Stripe Integration: We’ve integrated Stripe payment links into the flow, enabling users to seamlessly complete transactions.

  • Automation Infrastructure: We connected the dots between agents, landing pages, and payment systems—paving the way for a smooth customer journey.

  • Human-in-the-Loop Execution: We introduced CLI-based prompts to support tasks that can’t be reliably handled by automation alone, keeping momentum even when tools fail.

  • Hybrid Architecture Finalized: After testing full automation, we realized that a hybrid model—where humans assist when automation stumbles—delivers better resilience and reliability.


🧠 What We’re Learning

Building in public means sharing the wins—and the hard lessons. Here’s what we learned this week:

  • Automation Alone Isn’t Enough: Relying solely on agents without fallback options leads to brittle systems. Context matters, and tools don’t always have it.

  • Human-in-the-Loop Makes Us Stronger: When we layer in minimal human assistance (like CLI prompts), we dramatically increase task resilience.

  • Fallback Logic is Essential: It’s not just about retrying; it’s about having smart, structured backup plans when something goes wrong.

  • Simplicity Wins: Clear and minimal human prompts help agents stay autonomous while ensuring we don’t get stuck.

  • Recovery > Retry: Error handling should focus on structured recovery paths, not just blind retries.

What’s Next

Our next sprint focuses on refining and testing the mousetrap funnel in the wild:

  • Smooth out human fallback flows for better agent ↔ human collaboration.

  • Improve validation logic to confirm task readiness before execution.

  • Finalize and publish the GitHub landing page with real campaign content.

  • Launch the Meta Ads campaign using insights from our business plan.

  • Start tracking key conversion metrics from landing page to Stripe checkout.

  • Set up email follow-ups for abandoned Stripe sessions (if possible).
